Creating Line Tangent to Selected Shape

Select a shape locateed on the drawing to create a line tangent to the shape.
Selectable shapes are circles, arcs, ellipses, elliptical arcs and B-Splines.
The following 3 methods can be used to create a tangent line.

To display a command parameter to be executed, click / of command parameters, or press Tab key or ← / → key on the keyboard.

  1. Point [Line] on [Shape] menu, and click [Tangent Line].
    Then you will be able to create a tangent line.
    2. Supplemental
    ▪ You can enter into the tangent line creating status by clicking on [Shape] toolbar.
  2. Click a shape to be used as a base.

When specifying the "Tangent Point" of the shape and the "Length" or "End Point" of the tangent line.

  1. Switch the parameter on Command Window to [Tangent Point] box, and click the tangent point of the shape on the drawing.
    2. When specifying the "Length" of the tangent line
    1. Switch the parameter on Command Window to [Length] box, and enter the length of the tangent line.
    2. Click on the point in the drawing that determines the tangent direction.
      A tangent line is created from the tangent point with the specified length and direction.
    When specifying the "End Point" of the tangent line
    1. Switch the parameter on Command Window to [End Point] box, and click on the end point of the tangent line in the drawing.
      A tangent line is created from the tangent point to the end point.

When specifing the "Angle" and "length" or "End Point" of the tangent line

  1. Switch the parameter on Command Window to [Angle] box, and enter the angle of the tangent line.
    2. When specifying the "Length" of the tangent line
    1. Switch the parameter on Command Window to [Length] box, and enter the length of the tangent line.
    2. Click on the point in the drawing that determines the tangent direction.
      A tangent line is created with the specified angle, length and direction.
    When specifying the "End Point" of the tangent line
    1. Switch the parameter on Command Window to [End Point] box, and click on the end point of the tangent line in the drawing.
      A tangent line is created from the shape to the end point at the specified angle.

When specifing the "End Point" of the tangent line

  1. Switch the parameter on Command Window to [End Point] box, and click on the end point of the tangent line in the drawing.
    A tangent line is created from the shape to the specified end point.
Supplemental
▪ You can specify the tangent, start and end points by inputting X and Y coordinates in [Tangent Point], [End Point] and [Direction Point] boxes on Command Window.
