Chamfering Endpoint of Shape


Chamfering connects the endpoints of a shape to make a bevel.
Shapes that can be chamfered are lines, polylines and continuous lines.
The following 3 methods can be used to chamfer shapes.

To display a command parameter to be executed, click / of command parameters, or press Tab key or / key on the keyboard.

  1. Click [Chamfer] on [Edit] menu.
    Then you will be able to chamfer a line.
  2. Supplemental
    You can enter into the line chamfering status by clicking on [Edit] toolbar.

When specifying two shapes

  1. Switch the parameter on Command Window to [Shape], and click the first shape to be chamfered.
  2. Click the second shape to be chamfered.

When specifying polyline

  1. Switch the parameter on Command Window to [Polyline].
  2. Click a polyline to be chamfered.

When specifying vertex

  1. Switch the parameter on Command Window to [Vertex].
  2. Click a vertex to be chamfered.

  1. Specify a trimming method for shapes when chamfering in [Trim Method] on Command Window.
    Trim Both Shapes
    The selected 2 shapes and their vertexes will be trimmed to the endpoint of the specified chamfered area.
    Trim One Shape
    A one line forming the first selected shape and vertex will be trimmed to the endpoint of the specified chamfered area.
    No Trim
    The selected 2 shapes and their vertexes will be chamfered without trimming.
  2. Specify a chamfering method in [Chamfering Method] box on Command Window.
    Face Length
    The shape will be chamfered so that the face length will be the specified one.
    Side Length
    The shape will be chamfered so that the lengths of the 2 sides of the chamfered area will be the specified one.
    2 Side Length
    The shape will be chamfered so that the individual lengths of the 2 sides of the chamfered area will be the specified ones.

When specifying face length

  1. Input the face length in [Face Length] box on Command Window.
    The shape will be chamfered with the specified face length.

When specifying side length

  1. Input a side length of the chamfered area in [Side Length] box on Command Window.
    The shape will be chamfered with the specified side length.

When specifying the length on each side

  1. Input the length of the side 1 in [Side 1 Length] box on Command Window.
  2. Input the length of the side 2 in [Side 2 Length] box on Command Window.
    The shape will be chamfered with the specified side lengths.
